Sitare University Update - April, 2023
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Our founders, Shilpa and Amit Singhal, are completely driven by their will to provide bright underprivileged children a world-class education. Their own lives have been transformed by education, and they strongly believe that every child deserves a great education, regardless of their financial background. Shilpa and Amit are United States of America based Computer Scientists and philanthropists who started the Sitare Foundation to educate the bright underprivileged youth of India.
Having run a very successful 6th-12th education program, Shilpa and Amit realized that education up to 12th grade is great, however a university degree is required in this hyper competitive world to make generational change in a poor family’s life. They recently established Sitare University, a truly unique institution that offers a free B.Tech. degree in Computer Science with special focus on making a well rounded professional ready to thrive in the real world. Currently running its pioneer batch, Sitare University is breaking new ground with its cutting-edge curriculum designed by academics from Stanford, Cornell and several other universities in the United States and Europe; as well as top professionals from industry.
Sitare University is set to become a full-fledged Private State University under the Madhya Pradesh Private University Act. The location and the land for the university has been identified; all approvals from Madhya Pradesh government and from the University Grants Commissions will be obtained in coming years. For the academic year 2022-2023, students have been offered admission into Sitare’s partner university, and are being taught by Sitare’s international faculty. The same pattern will continue for the new admission year 2023-2024.
Sitare University is committed to producing world-class Computer Science graduates. The world is changing at a rapid pace and all aspects of our lives are influenced by computers these days. Keeping that in mind, the curriculum is designed by the best of the best academics and professionals in the world ensuring to teach what would be relevant in future, not what is relevant in the current times. One of the cornerstones of Sitare University is its strong industry relationships, especially startup relationships. It is due to these strong startup relationships that almost all of our pioneer batch students were offered paid internships in the first year itself, something that is unheard of in any University in any curriculum. We are glad to announce that our students have secured paid summer internships from companies like Beans.AI, Chalo, DriveU, GoQii, Genepath DX, Klearnow.AI, Moglix, Proshort.AI, Scalenut, Skyroot Aerospace, Trademo, Tracxn, Yulu, and Zeni.AI.
